4 STADIUMS | 28 CHALLENGES | 5,5KM
LIMITED ENTRIES NOW AVAILABLE
RUN IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LEGENDS THIS NOVEMBER
WHAT IS THE STADIUM DASH?
The Stadium Dash is South Africa's inner city obstacle race, which takes you on an adrenaline pumping obstacle packed course through Stadium's. The Dash Challenge is an obstacle course covering 5,5km in the precinct. We don't just run you to or around the stadiums, we take you through, over and inside actual buildings, stadiums, arena's and just about anything we can think of.
For participants this is a speed tour offering you a glimpse of the stadiums where legends have played and made history over the years. This is a rare opportunity to actually get to know your city and your heritage, before returning later in the day or on another date to see the hidden gems at a slower pace than the race.
Each event features no less than 28 built obstacles designed for all levels of athletes, this excludes the urban landscape which we make full use of in this event. How hard is it? Well, we don't set out to hurt you, but as with anything in life it is relevant to the effort you put in.
The Challenge route features no less than 28 obstacles over the 5,5km course which takes you through up and over Moses Mabhida Stadium, Kings Park Stadium, Kings Park Swimming Pool and much more. Please note this may vary by 10% due to variations in measurement techniques and the complexity of the route.
Full route details will be released 2 weeks ahead of the race.
For years we have tried and tested technology to get an accurate measurement of the route,
unfortunately given the areas out of reach of satellite and the elevation within buildings,
no pedometer or satellite has been up to the task and unfortunately none of the team was willing to run with a length of rope to test.

This years route is slightly different and we are sure you will like it. We have cut out majority of the stairs and shortened the route to just over 5,5km. Your legs will thank us for this. This years event also features 28 challenges in 3 of the main stadiums in the area. As always, this race is about the places you get to go and what you get to do in them when you are there.
Race briefing will happen before your batch starts, so listen up for details before you set out. There are a few key points we need ypu to be aware of. You will start at the globe and head out towards the the beach for the 1st leg of the race before crossing under Snell Parade. There is a major road crossing here, Metro will be on point and we will have marshals there too. Being a Friday means that the road will be busy, please listen to Metro DO NOT JUST RUN! We cannot close this road and it is early in the race, so BE CAUTIOUS. There are 3 other smaller road crossings which we need you to exersice the same level of caution at.
Kings Park Stadium section boasts more challenges than ever before, the highlights here will consist of the SMG Mini Pull and the Stairway to Heaven. Please decend the stairs carefully from the top of the Stadium by using the hand rail. We have shocking but optional news for you in the players tunnel, watch this space.
Moses Mabhida Stadium, due to constraints we cannot put challenges inside MMS barring the Silverback Sky Bootcamp and what we have around the outside of the Stadium. We have more than made up for it on other parts of the course.
Kings Park Swimming Pool, there are no few than 6 challenges inside KPS. Please listen to NSRI and the marshals in this area. From the moment you exit the pool, you will have less than 600m to go until the finish. So burn it right to the end from there. What if you cannot swim? If you cannot swim, please inform NSRI prior to taking to the high boards.
The route is well marked with over 150 red arrows on white boards, reach arrow will point to where the next arrow is. If you follow this principal and wear a heradlamp yo should not have an issue staying on course. Please never cross the red and white danger tape, it is there as a guide on route.
There are 2 water points on route. 1 inside Kings Park Stadium and the second at the Finish line. We cant really count KPS as a water point, but you will be getting wet.
What is at the Start / Finish line
The Globe which is host to Boktown will be packed with activity throughout the night. There will be food and drinks available there with ample seating for you to relax in and share a war story or 2 with good friends.
Good luck for your race, have fun out there, be cautious on the road crossings and be please wear a headlamp.
