Step up to the challenge on the 24th of May, here comes a race like no other. It is 6,5km in the footsteps of legends. From the tops of Stadiums right down to the players tunnels, nothing is off limits in 2020.
Who is this race for? For all levels of athletes, fun loving humans and adventure seekers.
Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg Stadium, Ellis Park Swimming Pool and Ellis Park Arena.

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
The Stadium Dash is South Africa's inner city obstacle race, which takes you on an adrenaline pumping obstacle packed course through Stadium's. We don't just run you to or around them, we take you through, over and inside actual buildings, stadiums, arena's and just about anything we can think of.
For participants this is a speed tour offering you a glimpse of the stadiums where legends have played and made history over the years. This is a rare opportunity to actually get to know your city and your heritage, before returning later in the day or on another date to see the hidden gems at a slower pace than the race.
Each event features no less than 26 built obstacles designed for all levels of athletes, this excludes the urban landscape which we make full use of in this event. How hard is it? Well, we don't set out to hurt you, but as with anything in life it is relevant to the effort you put in.

HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?
The 6,5km obstacle race is designed for all levels of fitness and the race is only as hard as you want to push yourself. Although we have over 28 challenges on route, all of them can be completed by the average person.
This is not a road race, we take you on routes that lead you to and from buildings & landmarks that you will be running through, over but never around.
BUT IS IT SAFE?
Yes. The race runs with the full support of JMPD and pretty much all operates within the stadium precinct. In conjunction to that we have over 38 marshals and lifeguards assisting you with the route and challenges.
HOW DOES THE TEAM ENTRY WORK?
Athletes are given the opportunity to enter as a team of 4 or as an individual. Teams are timed as teams and individuals are timed as individuals. Teams can help each other out and will be presented with several team specific challenges.

START / FINISH: Secure parking inside Ellis Park multi story parking
PARKING: There is ample secure parking at the venue
BATCHING: Batches are selected by athletes, for runners to qualify for prize money they must be in the elite batch
TIMING & RESULTS: This is a timed event, provisional results are posted within 12 hours of the race completion
NUMBER COLLECTION: Number collection will be help on the day of the event, any merchandise ordered can be collected at number collection
BAG & KEY DROP: Secure bag and key drop facilities are available on site on the day of the event
1st mens and ladies finisher R2000, athletes must be present at prize giving to qualify.
R 295 pp individual entry, group discount of 10% available for a group of 4 or more when registering online.
R 280 pp in a team of 4.

Our race is different, so we understand if you have questions. Over the past 8 years we have pretty much heard them all, but here are a few of the more common questions that we can help you with on the fly.
What about Corona Virus?
In the unlikely event that the event cannot take place, we will postpone at no cost to you. We will give a 3 month window period on the next date so that you may plan accordingly.
Is it safe at Ellis Park?
Most certainly is, the entire race happens within the precinct, 2 roads in and 2 out respectively. Your cars are parked in a multi story building at Ellis park and are under guard too.
Is there safe parking at the venue:-
Yes, very safe.
How fit do I need to be to do this challenge?
The race is built for all levels of fitness, our obstacles can all be completed by athletes of varying levels of fitness too. Because the challenges and race is only as hard as you want to push yourself, you do not need to be the fittest or the fastest, just the funerest which is a real word here in Jump City land.
What age groups can enter?
Our recommendation is 13 - 65 yrs of age. Minors must run accompanied and if you feel confident that you can do it with your 11 year old, then go for it. It is a real experience for the entire family.
Where do I collect my race pack?
Race numbers can be collected on the day, if you have ordered merchandise, that will be available for collection at the venue too.
How does the team category work?
Teams are made up of 4 runners only, no more, no less. They will be timed together, run together, sweat together and have fun together. You can name your team, brand your team and even challenge other teams.
I want to run in a team of 3 or 2 or 5 or 7 or 12 or any other number other than 4, what now?
Easy game, simply enter all the athletes you want to run together into the individual category, make sure you select the same batch for all of them and go for gold. All the individuals will be timed individually.
I lost my race confirmation, what do I do now?
Fear not friends, if it is lost we will find it. Your race registration will automatically download to whatever device you enter off of, an email is automatically sent to the email address provided. If for some reason your email does not reach you, check spam, check junk, check deleted or wait for a pigeon to bring it. We unfortunately cannot control individual email settings, so just drop us a mail on the contact section on this page and we will resend it to you manually.
Substitutions close 5 days prior to the event to allow for planning. Please note that you cannot run under alias for legals liability reasons.
Batch swaps. I entered the race with my partner, then we broke up, now I dont want to run in the same batch as him or her. What do I do?
We can swap you into a batch with space up until 5 days prior to the race, otherwise you and your ex will be running together and rekindling the flame. Please note, if you do swap batches illegally, your time will reflect as a DNF. DNF means no Discovery points, no cool strava comments or kudos and no result in the official lists.
Is there a penalty for not completing a challenge?
DAMN RIGHT! WHEN WE SAY JUMP, YOU SAY HOW HIGH? WHEN WE SAY RUN, YOU SAY HOW FAST? You didnt enter this race to skip challenges, get on with it tough stuff or take the penalty.
Winners must be present for prize giving to qualify for prizes.
